You Should Date A Girl Who Reads

Have you ever read something and just fallen in love with it? This is one of those things for me. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

You should date a girl who reads.

Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes, who has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she has found the book she wants. You see that weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a secondhand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow and worn.

Turn and face the strain

Halfway through the semester and right on schedule, I’m at my breaking point. The past two months have been a whirlwind of craziness, busy-ness, and overall chaos. Luckily, I’ve proved to be incredibly nomadic amidst all the mayhem which has been keeping this breakdown at bay; I’ve been living in the city, going back and forth from Long Island, briefing in Boston, and currently, I’m in Baltimore.

Words Fall Like Leaves

“Why do I think October is beautiful?
It is not, is not beautiful.
But then
what is there to hold one’s interest
between the various drifts of a day’s
work, but to search out the differences
the window and grate—
but it is not, is not
beautiful.
I think your face is beautiful, the way it is
close to my face, and I think you are the real
October with your transparence and the stone
of your words as they pass, as I do not hear them.

I think your face is beautiful, the way it is
close to my face, and I think you are the real
October with your transparence and the stone
of your words as they pass, as I do not hear them.”

Obsessed

Okay, you can stop judging now. I know this may look like something a hipster would buy at Urban Outfitters but it’s not even from Urban and I’m overly in love with it. This cover art for the novel is perfect and even though this is going to sound really pretentious, Fitzgerald is easily my favorite writer. Plus, it’s totally affordable at $42 AND it’s a sweatshirt, meaning I can both sleep in it and wear it out. AWESOME.

So, to the eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg – I want you on me.
